A letter from the Bishop...

Sincere Greetings of Goodwill and Christian love to all of our website readers:

“Train up a child in the way it should go…”

I would just like to share with you a note of concern for our families and the beautiful children whom God has given us.

I am concerned about the quality of the television programs that our children are viewing, and the television industry’s standards for children as well as adults. I hope that our parents are screening and editing what and who our children are looking at and listening to. We are affected by what we see and hear, and the computer programmers say garbage in garbage out is a fact of life—and that goes for adults and children alike.

I am told that there is a great demand by children for the Harry Potter series of books. The problem is that this character is a wizard—witchcraft is implied. This is not the first popular character doing magical tricks and sorcery. Remember “Jeanie”—so popular some time ago? God forbids witchcraft. God also forbids filthy music, filthy behavior, filthy speech and a filthy life style.

We need to evaluate carefully what we allow our families to see and hear, because the Bible says as a man thinketh in His heart so is He. Our thinking is influenced by what we look at, hear and read. We need to train up our children in a Godly way, a Christ like way, a holy way, a pure way, a right way.

Grace and Peace,
Bishop James E. Tyson
